This beautiful keepsake journal is made slowly, with intention.
Each 5×7 hand-stitched journal from Little Deer Studio is a one-of-a-kind piece, bringing together layers of colour, texture, and hidden surprises, to create a special journal designed for deeper keeping.
The patchwork cover is assembled from carefully chosen handmade paper remnants from the studio, allowing beautiful papers left over from other projects to be used thoughtfully, rather than wasted. The journal is hand-stitched with hemp thread and finished with a simple closure made from hemp twine. The cords wrap gently around the journal and secure behind a button on the front cover, with handmade paper beads at the ends adding a subtle, rhythmic weight to the closure.
Inside, the journal contains recycled paper pages in colours that echo the cover design, alongside stitched-in envelopes and thicker cardstock pages with pockets. These elements create space not only for writing or drawing, but also for keeping small mementos — notes, tags, letters, or fragments you’d like to hold onto.
Every aspect of this journal invites a slower pace and a more layered relationship with the pages. It’s well suited to memory keeping, creative journalling, travel records, or personal reflection that unfolds over time.
